Vincent "Bing" Malone
Vincent “Bing” Malone is a multidisciplinary artist from Fat Hog’s Bay, Tortola, whose creative practice spans painting, sculpture, jewellery, and design. Deeply rooted in the Virgin Islands’ landscape and culture, Malone’s work often celebrates community identity, local history, and the natural environment.
A self-taught artist, Malone has been creating since childhood, describing his first artistic memory as simply “holding a pencil.” His early fascination with making things grew into a lifelong exploration of form and texture—whether through pigment, shell, or calabash. Beyond painting, he crafts jewellery from locally sourced materials and even designs and sews his own clothing, demonstrating an instinctive artistry that extends into every aspect of his life.
Malone’s public works are landmarks of cultural storytelling. His mural outside the Long Look Methodist Church in East End, Tortola, chronicles pivotal moments in the Seventh District’s history—from the arrival of Methodist missionaries in the 18th century to the resilience of the community in the wake of modern challenges. Through projects like this, Malone transforms public spaces into living archives of Virgin Islands heritage.
From his gallery in Fat Hog’s Bay, he continues to share his art with residents and visitors alike, offering a vision of creativity deeply intertwined with place, memory, and identity.
